What a sad article. Written in 2016, there was hope that things were improving for the people of Myanmar. In 2017, there were mass atrocities committed against the Rohingya. In 2021, a coup against the democratic government. Now, a civil war.

Prevention of drowning. It kills an estimated 300,000 people a year, and others suffer from near drowning. It will take not just fencing a pool, but day care to protect unsupervised kids, ending poverty, perhaps even vegetarianism as many fishers have risky work. www.who.int/news-room/fa...

Do we solve issues? Take anti-social behavior on public transport or in the suburbs or the issue of homelessness.
It seems it's business as usual. People are loud on the trains, and nothing changes. The enforcement of quiet carriages is ignored. The security guards don't increase, etc.
