I gave it my all and fought using everything I was capable of doing now, and I seized the result: a tournament victory. So, I am going to give it my all and fight with everything that I am capable of now, and seize what I am able to win. The fact that my first challenge will be for the belt that Arisu-san has, that makes me truly happy. Uta Takami I will do it.

Miu: “I was able to win the belt at Ryogoku Kokugikan, and then I lost directly to Nakajima-san in my first match in Japan as part of the champion team. When I won the belt at Ryogoku Kokugikan, I started to see so many dreams and goals, things I wanted to do more of. One of those things was that I started to think that I’d like to have a title match with Nakajima-san someday, with this belt on the line. But I felt that ‘I want to do it someday’ was a very naive thought as the champion. I hadn’t realized that holding this belt as the champion meant that I would always be a target. I have to put all of those naive thoughts aside and work harder and harder. Nakajima-san is the person I respect the most in the world. Even if I were asked in a job interview, ‘Who is the historical figure that you respect the most?’ I would say, ‘Shoko Nakajima!’ I respect her so much, I could say that. For me, she’s on par with Oda Nobunaga. I respect her that much. Since my very beginning as a pro wrestler, Nakajima-san was always putting in hours at the dojo and working hard. But she didn’t think it was because she was working hard. Watching her steadily putting in the work all the time, I thought I should also do my best to work hard so that I could follow in her footsteps, that I should keep plugging away and do my best in pro wrestling, even if it didn’t lead to any results. That’s why I’m so happy to be able to face Nakajima-san with this belt on the line, and I’m sure that I will grow even more as the champion going forward. With this as my first defense, I will absolutely defend my belt.”
