i feel like all these arguments ignore the fact that politicians aren't just supposed to reflect beliefs. They can shape them! If swing voters are weird about trans people, fix it. You think they started freaking out about 6th grade soccer teams on their own? OR DID A POLITICIANS SHAPE THEIR VIEWS
