So, you’re not alone in this, is what I’m saying.

I’m only now realizing this about myself — and man, it’s just sad — but any discussion of any sort regarding frogs has me immediately considering how to work a “riveting —> ribbiting” pun into a comment.

God.
Damn.
It.

(I laughed, but still stand by the above statement)

Cowards. Quislings. I’d call y’all spineless jellyfish, but that wouldn’t be fair to the jellyfish.

I tend to refer to it as the “White Slaveowner Heritage Foundation,” because that’s the only heritage they actually care about.

I do feel for the protagonist in “Sentenced to Prism;” dude goes through sooooo much “this really should have killed him” shit.
December 11, 2025 at 4:42 AM
A peripheral book in the universe is “Sentenced to Prism,” which — beyond the glorious pun of a title — showcases a fascinating planet and its denizens.

Absolutely a wonderful book. Happy reading to all who claim a copy!
I have it in paperback, so no need here.
On a somewhat related topic, does anyone know where one might be able to befriend an Alaspinian Minidrag?
No?

Just had the random thought of “Huh, one’s all strings and the other’s all picks….” Which, I suppose, is technically correct?

If not, Alien 3. I loathe that movie with a passion. When I acknowledge its existence, that is.
December 10, 2025 at 6:04 AM
Do movies I never actually finished count? Because if they do, Zardoz. Got like halfway through it and nearly died of terminal pretentiousness.

Awww, looks like our Snowy! Well, my housemate’s Snowy. Snowy takes personal offense at my very existence.
She’s a mill rescue, so has trust issues.
I am allowed to feed her and let her out and back in, but pets and scritchies are right out.

We’ve always called them snow boogers

The perfect disguise for lying in wait for marauding sugarplum fairies.

Malory. He’d be up in everybody’s business yammering on about this new knight who he swears is real but who can perform feats that even denizens of Greek myth would roll their eyes at.
Someone says “Good night, friends,” and he’s right there, “Let me tell you of the Burnt Umber Knight…”

Another show that still lives rent free in my head is Automan. The ending of one episode in particular — don’t remember the context, but Automan was a helicopter, with a villain onboard, and he just derezzed several thousand feet above the ocean.

I have a base-tier Mini that rests in a compact docking station which is designed to resemble that model of Mac Pro. I primarily use it to watch Twitch streams on while working. It replaced a 2017 5k iMac.

At the time, I had access to a library of paperback sci-fi and fantasy novels that occupied two entire walls of my dad’s home office, and westerns simply couldn’t compete.

Can’t say I do, but the opening titles of “Love, American Style” occasionally haunt me.
December 2, 2025 at 1:55 PM
It certainly left its mark on 8-year-old me’s brain.

Luck. Strange Luck.
December 2, 2025 at 1:49 PM
Strange Lick was so good.

I’ll add Quark to the list. 70s sci-fi sitcom about an interstellar garbage ship, starring Richard Benjamin.

As one does.

That individual’s judgment seems to be seriously… im-peared.
