I'm so grateful for my safe home, loving spouse, full fridge, & healthy kids. But it feels like I'm on a tightrope with no net. Below, the crying others who are just like me but had no tightrope or fell with a gust of unpredictable wind. I didn't earn my blessings; they don't deserve their suffering

My Fellow Disabled Folks. This is our legacy. We: Broke sidewalks to install curbs so we could leave their homes. Fought the Ugly Laws. Slept in dirty offices to get equal access. Crawled up marble to demand the ADA. We are powerful together, & we must fight the attacks on our right to exist freely.
Ed Roberts on the Berkeley Campus and at a protest. Roberts demanded to be able to attend Berkeley, opening up higher-ed to disabled people. He fought for disabled rights all his life, and even led a group of disabled vigilantes who smashed sidewalks and installed concrete ramps so people in wheelchairs, aka disabled students, could safely exit a sidewalk onto the street and get to places they needed to go without someone to lift them. Heumann also was involved in passage of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which was ratified in May 2008. She helped found the Berkley Center for Independent Living, the Independent Living Movement and the World Institute on Disability and served on the boards of several related organizations including the American Association of People with Disabilities, the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund, Humanity and Inclusion and the United States International Council on Disability." And you let that bill pass with barely a whisper. #ADA

#Immigrants and #Migrant Workers are the backbone of our food supply chain. Already, #farm crops are dying in the field bc of a Trump-caused labor shortage. #Groceries will go up and, if this continues, we may have a full-blown food shortage. #Trump seems to have no plan to address the crisis.

Quick Basic #History: The Alien and Sedition Acts, pushed through by John Adams, were very controversial then, leading to an arrested congressman. All of them lwere repealed except the #AlienEnemiesAct, last used to jail my family & other #Japanese ppl. We said it was wrong but we're doing it again.

9 of the 10 States that rely the most on #federal funding- they get more funding than they pay in taxes- are heavily #GOP. It will be up to us to create clear messaging that ties the inadequate response to disasters and social problems to GOP governance and the #Trump & #Musk #DOGE administration.

It would be nice if after Saturday, Congress got out their Sunday best and went to work tomorrow on our demands. They could reclaim tariff power and demand our agencies be funded or they'd impeach. They could turn the tide. But they won't. So rest, enjoy my roses, and be ready to keep fighting.

It is sad that we lost elections in Florida today. But Josh Weil only lost by 27k and Gay Valimont lost by even less, 25k. Dems also lost by signicantly tighter margins than in Nov. Perspectives are shifting but the old marketing doesn't flip districts. We need new approaches to meet this moment.

The adult died on March 6th & a 6yr old died in Feb. TX has 41 hospitalizations and 400 cases in 17 counties. 44 cases in NM. We will see more deaths if this continues. 1/1000 die, 1/4 are hospitalized, 1/1000 have complications. Boosters may be needed if immunocompromised or didn't get 2 shots

It's easy to look at Cloud's 66% win and say there's no chance here. I say only 200k voted. We only need 20% of the population to actually #vote to turn that district. 54% is #Hispanic, 38k are #Veterans, and 45k work for #HealthCare and Social Assistance. It's time folks hear a different msg.
