A sunny day, did some spring cleaning and emptied the freezer of last year’s rhubarbs and made a cobbler. Started a new book, going strictly by what my local library chooses to front in the English YA and fantasy literature shelves.

Again, grateful for the good selection of YA books in English in the library. I prefer reading printed books and since I rarely reread books (aside from the ones that have stuck with me for ages) borrowing from the library is perfect, plus gives me a deadline to finish it. This one is for March.

Goal is to read not just fics but one book per month this year. Finished this for February. Since my reading preferences haven’t changed since my teens, I am grateful to now be working next door to a library with a well stocked YA fantasy section. 14 year old me would have camped there daily.

Very happy that my 10 year old finally agreed to spend a day with me at the library just reading. But I just randomly picked this book from the YA shelf thinking that it was historical fiction? 🤔 Hm, very mistaken. Four chapters in so far.

Happy Chinese new year! May this new year of the 🐍 bring good fortune to us all. I look forward to shedding the bad luck we’ve had recently and moving towards better times. On a bright note, I finished two Nashuri drabbles for #nashuriyearofthesnake, very refreshing to be done early for once.
