A sunny day, did some spring cleaning and emptied the freezer of last year’s rhubarbs and made a cobbler. Started a new book, going strictly by what my local library chooses to front in the English YA and fantasy literature shelves.

Again, grateful for the good selection of YA books in English in the library. I prefer reading printed books and since I rarely reread books (aside from the ones that have stuck with me for ages) borrowing from the library is perfect, plus gives me a deadline to finish it. This one is for March.

The new story of my life. 3/5 of the family down. Me and the laundry machine are exhausted. I pat myself on the back when I manage to meet my daily writing goal of 3 sentences and am happy that I got a new book from the library.
Read or write. Write or read. As I was unable to make a choice on what to do tonight, it was made for me. Youngest child caught the stomach bug so now I am neither reading nor writing, but cleaning up and doing laundry instead.

Goal is to read not just fics but one book per month this year. Finished this for February. Since my reading preferences haven’t changed since my teens, I am grateful to now be working next door to a library with a well stocked YA fantasy section. 14 year old me would have camped there daily.

Ah, I am plagued this week with self doubt when it comes to writing. I have read more than usual and even with my very gentle daily writing goal of 3 sentences everything I write sounds flat in comparison to what I have read and I feel like I use the same 5 words in different combinations.

Very happy that my 10 year old finally agreed to spend a day with me at the library just reading. But I just randomly picked this book from the YA shelf thinking that it was historical fiction? 🤔 Hm, very mistaken. Four chapters in so far.
