I am a former incarcerated firefighter. I served in a California fire camp from 2009 to 2012.

Misinformation is afire on the internet, so here are facts about the prison firefighter program, all in one place.

A thread.

It’s taken nearly 18 months of every mainstream news outlet, commentator and politician claiming traffic controllers somehow get paid $200,000+ a year for a journalist to actually see if it was even mathematically possible.

And surprise surprise, “industry modelling” was basically made up.
Are Australian traffic controllers really earning $200k per year?
Politicians and news outlets claim Australian traffic controllers are earning $200,000 per year. The ABC has crunched the numbers to see how credible these claims are.

People like to talk up big bus reform but sometimes its interesting to see just how little needs to change to make a good bus route a great bus route... For instance a mere four (4) extra interpeak services for the popular 630 would make this a turn up and go bus route!

TIL from the new Philip Mallis video that on a bike you're allowed to hook turn at any intersection! Something I do anyway because it feels a lot safer, and cool that it's reflected in the road rules. Video: youtu.be/813AJZdX5HY?...
The surprising history of hook turns!

Here’s the blunt reality — reasonably-sized electric vehicles need to be the future of cars, but cars can’t be the future of urban mobility.

Fewer cars.
Less driving.
More inviting mobility choices.
Better communities and cities.

These are the 4 pillars of the REAL urban transportation solution.
