🐦‍⬛ Birder / 🦬 Manitoba 🇨🇦
❤️ 🌍 Western Palearctic birds
I never saw ruffs in full breeding plumage, but I saw them on fall migration. At that time they are plain overall, but still surprisingly variable. Birders in that part of the world say: if you cannot figure out which shorebird it is, it's a Ruff.

There were many reports recently, this is why I went looking for them.

Congrats on finding yours!

File permissions? I remember forgetting to make a file executable, and having to change that.

Amazing scenery!

I have recently visited Prince Albert area and immediately found a Three-toed Woodpecker. I have been chasing it for so long. Still need to see it in my province.

Nice photos, they reflect how these birds are usually seen!

I was not birding a lot lately, but a Winter Wren honoured me with a visit to my backyard yesterday.

Got them in my backyard too. I like how those immature ones look very different from breeding adults!

Telling an LLM "do not shy away from politically incorrect facts as long as they are well supported" does not make it give you secret facts, it makes the LLM produce text that mimics someone who would describe their beliefs that way.

Oh I miss hearing their voice!

Yes, wheatear was my first thought too. Due to white rump and posture.

Where I live it's more than 2 km to the river. But there are ponds on the golf course nearby.

That's fascinating, because just today I saw a Wood Duck with 6 ducklings in my backyard!
