So all this worry and tumult may be nothing more than a market-manipulation, insider-trading scheme. The possibility of this had crossed my mind. I just didn’t think they’d be so brazen and obvious about it.

One of my interests is pervasiveness of scamming—it is a worldwide industry, generating revenues in the hundreds of billions of dollars. And it is built on the premise that if someone falls for the scam, they must be exploited until they get wise or are bled dry. This is how Trump-Musk operate.

Similarly, it seems part of the reason it's so hard to get US citizens to get rowdy when their rights are threatened (unlike the French, and despite the rhetoric) is that our entire wellbeing — from paying for shelter, to access to medical care — is tied to our jobs. Probably by (partial) design.
