My older sister was hospitalized with cerebral palsy. Back in those days, parents had to leave their tiny children at the hospital all alone. The trauma this left in the children and the guilt in the parents was incalculable. We must do better.

SNAP recipients are not the problem.
Tax equitably.
The Walton family are worth over $400 billion, yet many of their employees are on SNAP.

Bezos is worth over $400 billion, many Amazon employees require SNAP.

The problem is corporate greed. It’s an unwillingness to pay a living wage.

62% of those getting SNAP are in families with children. 37% have family members who are elderly, or disabled per Federal rules.
Cutting SNAP not only impacts them, but also every grocery store, and their employees as people will no longer be able to afford food their SNAP lifeline provided.

I’m good with my taxes subsidizing social welfare for people who can’t afford food.

I’m enraged with my taxes subsidizing corporate welfare to businesses that won’t pay a living wage.
