Some of them are a little more wallpaper-y than I tend to like, but others are clear standouts for favorite songs of the year with the heart breaking loneliness that they evoke (3/3)

While sometimes long droney albums can be a slog, I never found myself checking the timestamps and hoping for the more extended cuts to be over (2/3)

Ineffective repetition aside, I do still really dig what this record has to offer at large (4/4)

A lot of these textures are pleasant to get lost in or engaging enough to still have the pull that their more form-anchored offerings have, but “Happy With You” has got to be the most irritating song they've put out, hindered further by its repetitiveness (3/4)

Each song is a vignette of things that last forever, feel like they will last forever, or are identifiably finite, all with swirling indie folk that touches some psychedelic jam notes as well. I think it's an interesting new form for the band to have taken, even if I prefer other projects (2/?)

Both are pretty good! The new Danny Brown is… interesting. Definitely not better than some of his best, but some really strong songs

The framework is supposed to be this reflection on the cost of popularity, but it gets lost in its own spiral. I like the project and the concept, but the execution is rough around the edges enough where it hindered my enjoyment of an otherwise fool proof plan (3/3)

While I still believe all of the previous statement, I also recognize the power of the features, especially underscores, ta Ukrainka, and Zheani, who help bring this album to a proper climax (2/?)

Is that more songs on this album than you'd think? Yes, it's at least two. Did I enjoy the more introspective middle section of the album the best? Also yes (2/2)

I think the comibination makes me like this project with each listen all the more (3/3)

A man and a microphone venting about things that are going wrong in his life, some of which is truly devestating despite the comical wrapping (sometimes rapping as well) of David overtop a recognizable instrumental that he takes for his own (2/3)

I'm not sure what else I have to say other than it's a solid record with some tunes that walk that line of rock, pop, and dance even. Feels a little like an attempt at a Magdalena Bay sort of vibey, genre-catching project to mixed success (3/3)

The pacing is a little strange, with four or so interlude tracks on an already short record, and some of the songs overstay the value of what they have to offer, but never to the point of annoyance or full boredom (2/3)

Picture in a Frame never fails to make me teary eyed

The pacing is super slick (smooth like butter, even) and the record feels like a unit that knocks it out of the park where it matters most (mainly the beginning, middle with "Check the Rhime" and end with "Scenario"). Can't say enough good things about it (4/4)

Secondly, these tracks are ripe with the best that jazz rap has to offer, with iconic and cool (in both senses of the word) beats that stick with you but don't hijack the texture (3/4)

Firstly, Q-Tip and Phife Dawg have such complimentary stiles and voices, like a well-cast comedy routine or film with a duo protagonist (2/?)
