an advantage of being diagnosed — aside from prescription meds — is understanding yourself more. for some it’s helpful when someone knowledgeable confirms that yes, you aren’t just lazy and “not trying hard enough”, but your brain is simply built this way. it can be a weight off one’s shoulders

And I don't know if the answer is: everyone is too traumatized to do work and we need to reinvent society. Or if it's more like: generations are losing their cognitive abilities and willpower due to destructive technologies. Or: we all have post-viral brain damage. Or: all of the above.
