Problem: we posit rules and principles for interpretation of legal soruces that are themselves in need of interpretation, context and application to real world scenarios. We could try to fix that with more, higher level rules, but that just replicates the problem - an infinite nesting doll. 12/17

In that sense, doctrinal research is similar to a jigsaw puzzle. With all the pieces (legal sources) on the table, it is not immediately clear how they fit together, much less combine to create an overall picture. And yet, we would never being (or complete) the puzzle if we got overwhelmed. 11/14
