Here’s the calculation I make with vaccines that aren’t covered by insurance: If I got the disease in question, would I, at that point, pay the cost of the vaccine to be instantly healed? Like, “would I pay £100 to no longer have shingles?”

That Steve Barron video was just so, so cool when it came out. I was already super into animation—being 12 years old—but I’d never seen animated pencil lines. It somehow made animation seem more achievable.

Wait, listening to music reduces dementia risk by 39% and general cognitive decline by 17%, but “people who both listened to and played music had a 33 percent reduced dementia risk, and a 22 percent reduced risk for unrelated cognitive impairments.” So also playing an instrument gives me worse odds?
