I’d been aware he was from Wythenshawe & sth Mancs, but just read he was born in higher Blackley, where I used to live, in nth Mancs. Just the other side of Heaton pk from where The Fall eventually got together

I like the story, attributed to John Squire, that CDs were ‘rich man’s weed’ when they first came on the market as you could actually hear the detail in those 60/70s albums they’d only known on knackered pressings and on crappy systems
