Hey new followers! However you found me, glad you’re here. I post a lot about my work researching networked incitement (check out our project linked in the reply), but also about rap, sports, Star Trek, 19th century Russian literature that I’m reading, and general shitposting.
It was never about affordability for these specific folks (bougie MAGA influencers), it was always about punishment and retribution. This is the J6er constituency in a nutshell

Anecdotally, gas prices are noticeably down where I live (higher than $2.50 on average for E85, but consistently below $3). But dang, the national average is only 1 cent lower than at this time last year

Far-right propagandists (Savannah Hernandez, Andy Ngo) are upset today about last night’s anti-TPUSA protest at Berkeley and arguing that the Trump admin isn’t taking the “antifa threat” seriously, that the EO has only “emboldened these violent anarchists”

A couple years ago I worked on 12 grants in my role as a task force director at the Library of Congress. This year, zero. We are going to lose a lot of our public memory. Which is at the crux of fascistic mobilization.

This clip really is undefeated when trying to make sense of why certain politicians do certain things (time and time again).

If a "strong economy" can coincide with—or indeed create—record homelessness and insecurity, then maybe it's time for a change in terminology.

A perfect illustration of what happens when "the economy" is measured by everything except people's ability to meet their most essential material needs.

Another reason I love cricket: stuff like this. Sure, stadiums, turfs, baskets, etc. affect games in MLB, NFL, and NBA, but is there any other sport where the environment and conditions so radically impacts not just the play itself but the overall strategy?
Reverse swing will potentially play a key role in the first Test between India and South Africa at Eden Gardens 👀
It is understood that the black-soil pitch is already devoid of any live grass four days before the Test, with good bounce expected before the pitch starts slowing down #INDvSA

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Once again
The last two massive pieces of federal legislation—the IRA and the OBBB—passed the Senate on 51-50 votes. That seems suboptimal to me
(I’m an “abolish the Senate” guy, btw)

The Senate Cannot Be Reformed—It Can Only Be Abolished
The Senate is a deeply undemocratic institution where white power thrives and the popular will goes to die.
