I'm pleased & relieved to see BS admin finally drawing a line here. Jesse Singal is the canary in the coal mine - allowing the mob to demand his expulsion would set a precedent for relentless ideological purges of anyone they don't agree with.

More flippancy & waffles please. Laugh at the bullies.

Utterly scandalous story - Pickston created this home for her own emotional needs, to play the great saviour. Any professional staff who stood in the way were sacked.

I'm just shocked that the Supreme Court doubted the authority of WPATH's experts.

I despise the Trump regime, but I think Skrmetti outcome is right. Representative democracy has little meaning if elected lawmakers must always comply with expert advice.

This especially applies where the 'experts' have only dubious, self-referential authority built from scant evidence, eg WPATH.

80% of Georgians support EU integration.
This is not a divided country.
It is a hijacked one - held hostage by a ruling elite that serves neither the people nor their aspirations.

If you're correct, this athlete will have no difficulty with the World Boxing requirements. But we all know that this athlete will refuse to comply, and we all know why that is.

They could change their minds, I guess, but it seems extremely unlikely. For all the talk here of biology being loose and unreliable, the material reality is that most of us can distinguish men & women pretty easily. It's an innate skill, especially acute for women.

Sometimes an arrogant nation needs a big self-inflicted pratfall to adjust their perspective. For us in UK, that was Brexit - "we don't need those damned foreigners, we're a global power!"

UK is now having to face reality and eat humble pie, will be good for us in long term. Hopefully same for USA.

Some will be MAGA loons who literally believe in Trump at a para-religious level. "He's doing this to share the wealth, soon we'll all be rich". Others will be speculators hoping to profit from the first group's stupidity. America has become "Idiocracy" made real.

People can identify however they wish. If it pleases you to deeply believe you are a dolphin, a 6yr old child or a mystic with supernatural powers, you have that absolute right.

But you don't have the right to compel me to believe it too.

I think that's definitely a factor. Nobody teaches manipulation and abuse better than $cientology.

He's in charge now, so he doesn't want any more complaining from the plebs. Just post cute pictures of kittens and happy stories about your families, or the social credit algorithm will have to suppress your negativity.

True. Seems to me that it should be reframed as a necessary demographic process, with fair transfer of support funding. The LB's could still save money, while the outlying provinces regain some people & capacity.

2/ .... sustainable to me. London has become a very expensive place to live, certainly beyond my reach. The North isn't some desolate icy wilderness, there's millions of us here living perfectly safe, happy & affordable lives. Properly planned & funded relocation seems a valid option to me.

A serious problem, especially if resources for wider support don't accompany the transfer. But I can also understand the desperation of London Boroughs who have to pay up to 5x more to accommodate homeless applicants locally (and their ratepayers who have to fund that). Doesn't seem... 1/

Brilliant movie. Hilarious and heartbreaking, all at once.

It isn't. But unfortunately the crazies went some way beyond that.

This exactly. Recently Bluesky has started to feel like an Lord of the Flies version of Twitter. The attempts to police, intimidate and excommunicate users who don't adhere to a certain, prescriptive belief set have become quite alarming - fanatical, unhinged & violent.
