Can anyone tell me who the Indigenous woman author who wrote a book about the Killers of the Flower Moon is, and the title of her book? I would like to read it very much. #indigisky

hilarious how people think democrats are somehow ideologically opposed to fascism when they open the door for it every time.
Tangentially, his fascist gallop should be SO easy for all Dem electeds to call out, as compared to previous fascist creep.

We are not frogs in a pot on a wood stove right now, we are frogs in a pot on an induction range set to PowerBoil
Yeah and I will say that it is INTERESTING how much the dirtbag "left" Chapo crowd has turned on her even as she increasingly seems to be the only national elected official willing to model a meaningful rhetorical opposition to Trump's fascist gallop

The rapidity of this disintegration is mind-blowing! Broken pieces scattered everywhere. With nothing but oligarchs to gather them up.

I gotta ask, how are all the high vibing, Law of Attraction, manifest your desired reality peeps doing right now? No cynicism creeping in? I'm looking for company.

Progressive Christian white guy over on FB marveling that God chose a woman to do this. Lost my sh*t. My money is on her making her own choice and having the courage to stand in the presence of the oppressor and speak truth to his face.
This is the face of courage and compassion. Thank you Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde for speaking truth to power on behalf of the marginalized.

I'd really love to understand the science of belief! Definitely going to check this one out!

Join us at 19:30 GMT on February 3rd for a talk with one of the founders of the cognitive science of religion, Harvey Whitehouse, to question if our evolutionary past is imperilling our future.

I could not be more impressed with my Google 8 pro AI upgrade to my text dictation editing. Here's how it interprets when I say "at ten". It does appear to be trying. I guess I should give it some encouragement.

Welcome back! I'm heading to the cliffs at 10. :00.

National champion QB gives the credit first and foremost to his lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

It was probably a tough call, but looks like Jesus went with the Protestants this time.

Big events today:
1. MLK day. Amen
2. Inauguration day. 🥱
3. College football playoffs national championship day.

I got to say on #3, college football is a grand f****** disaster. Compared to the bowl game days... Of the entire series, there was only one decent game. Texas versus Arizona State.

The "universe" does not tell me what to do. It shows me. Almost exclusively through my interactions with other organisms and matter. A collective pursuit of homeostasis. On an infinite number of levels. I try to be in sync with it. Thoughts?

A thought for this Christmas Day: It is a sin to regard our own god as supreme to the gods of our fellow humans.

Human consciousness as an emergent phenomenon is a myth founded in self-worship. All species have a form of consciousness that works within their own context. They just don't write books about it.

I had a trauma session today. Still working on the loss of my son to gun suicide, in July 2001.

Spiritual abuse on our family played a key role.

Trauma work is not for the faint of heart. They ask you to go back to the very day. And relive it. There is no place I would rather be further from.

Good morning, Bluesky. Today’s #GoodMorningNews: a trial at Washington University’s school of medicine has shown great results for a vaccine that would prevent recurrence for a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer. It’s a small trial, but 3 years later 16/18 participants remain cancer free

Thought experiment:

Is there a payoff for natural selection in the human population for the trait of empathy? Individually or collectively?

Will individuals or groups have better odds of survival if they possess the trait of empathy?
