There were gun laws in America very early. The Constitution did not change them. For instance, this and others in an act of 1760, still current in 1824. "If any person or persons shall presume to carry any gun..." in Pennsylvania law.

The intention was to provide standardized arms, replacing personal arms, 5 yrs after the 1792 Act, so again, there was nothing in the Constitution about personal use of firearms. You just can't keep up because you chose tunnel vision a long time ago. web.archive.org/web/20200603...
