Have you ever been where they regularly test air raid sirens? People don’t panic. Tourists look around and see people doing nothing unusual and so they snap a brief selfie video to commemorate the moment and move on.

And I want that on all browsers. Mobile, desktop, tablet, smartwatch, the whatever is in steam when you open the overlay, web enabled fridge, smart tv, whatever. Ask me. Is this what you intend to happen. ALSO, if a page has been open for like… 0.6 seconds, I definitely didn’t click a thing. Ask me.

To persist under such conditions takes strength and conviction. The internet can and should be a place where voices are heard and respected, not a proving ground for those already fighting to be seen. It’s such a distraction and the amount of effort wasted to reiterate themselves bothers me.

There is no end to the need for self-affirming defenses—of their words, their choices, their very existence in these spaces. Every action is questioned, doubted, “debunked,” or met with demands for silence.
