Hi, I'm the guy who used to oversee the federal government's agency IT telecommunications contracts. This is extremely bad. There is absolutely no need for this. Not only is it a huge security exposure, but the simplest explanation for this is that it is meant to be a security exposure.

I think I want all my browsers to ask me if I want to open links from other apps. Like if I open a link on a website I’m looking at in my browser, ok just open it, but if I accidentally click on a link in some other app, just ask first. Hey this app wants to open a link to example.com allow? Y/N

I’m wanting to connect with local creative people. Makers, artists, actors, musicians, you know—the medium doesn’t matter. I appreciate the mindset. But I don’t know how to reach them without sounding like a huckster with something to sell. Whatever the way is, the hucksters are listening for tips.

The notion that any job or profession is so inherently vital, and rare that “always on call” should be assumed. No. Retain the services of additional providers to meet your coverage needs. Large organizations defray the burden with an array of providers in tiered services. Smaller ones cannot.
