Imagine if Barack Obama or Joe Biden said they were above the law.

Imagine if Obama or Biden were pocketing tens of millions of dollars while they were in office.

Imagine if Obama or Biden pardoned people who violently attacked the Capitol to prevent a Republican from taking office.

Liberal society — free people, individual rights, government by the consent of the governed, equality under the law, free markets, peace, and prosperity — is an accomplishment.

It can be lost.

Serious people do not take it for granted.

Our newly elected (and more importantly UNELECTED) “leaders” have absolutely no care about the impacts of their decisions. These decisions have much bigger consequences than just an “Oops, we made a mistake.” Every decision they make is just sickening and horrifying.

Without #FEMA, smaller and less wealthy states would likely struggle to respond effectively to disasters. A #publichealth professor looks at why getting rid of FEMA would be a bad idea https://buff.ly/4jXk4jP (Ming Xie, University of Maryland, Baltimore County) 🌎 #climatesky #hurricanes #LAFires
If FEMA didn’t exist, could states handle the disaster response alone?
FEMA pools national resources to help states quickly manage disasters. Without that federal support, each state would be left to build its own expensive response capabilities.

And Trump, his family and Vance could hardly look at the Bishop when she was speaking/praying, but they had many side-glances to each other. I’m so disgusted! It’s just the beginning of the longest four years I’ve ever known.
BREAKING: Trump whines like a baby after the bishop calls him out during a sermon at the National Cathedral to "have mercy" on marginalized people.

“Not too exciting, was it? I didn’t think it was a good service, no. Thank you very much. They can do, they can do much better,” Trump complained.

Today the great divide is not between left and right. It’s between democracy and oligarchy.

Let me explain.
The American oligarchy is back, and it’s out of control
It’s the third time in the nation’s history that a small group of hyper-wealthy people have gained political power over the rest of us. Here’s what we must do.
