Last day of my "Hidden Lives of Maps" lecture course. Another semester is in the books (after grading)! We finished with The Decolonial Atlas and how to make maps into better arguments for broader community audiences. It was good intellectual fun.

Dictators attack and destroy intelligentsias. They go for judges. I don't see how this is surprising for anyone who bothers to read 20th C history. I wrote books on the subject. I teach books on the subject. So they're coming for us. Please don't plead ignorance now! Find and read a goddamned book.

I did an interview with a sophomore student journalist today (doing a feature) on uses of maps as propaganda, tools, and weapons. He asked good questions and came historically prepared!

Not for nothing, but I did say this months ago and before the US election. Note the date. Note that Trump's tariff plan does not apply to Russia. We may hesitate to make predictions, but I do continue to study historical patterns for a reason.
