Much more promising. Next two league games very winnable, then come Birmingham and Charlton.

Now up to fourth, three points off the promotion mix. Possibly resurrected this league season with the recent uptick in form.

Superb shot stopper, his performances were a huge part of that first CL qualifying season & he’s made some hugely important saves. Cost us relatively little. Has been a successful signing overall.
Howe wanted to bring in Trafford, he’s looking to replace/evolve. The club dropped the ball.

‘Proven PL blunders’. Eh? Who?
Pope in his first season was immense, Burn has been a bargain (yes, he’s not a LB). Hall? Tino? The current season signings the jury is still out.

Athletic did more pressing on Wednesday night than any team we’ve faced this season. The stats don’t back up that our players are doing less running. What we are lacking, away in the main, is a fluid attack.
Pace, crossing ability, work rate are probably valuable however you play.

No, but we’ve been competitive in the CL, which means we are at least capable of it.
Do you honestly think Howe just picks eleven lads and sends them out without a game plan? There is obviously one. It either hasn’t worked, or the lads haven’t enacted it well (mainly in away games).

We’ve scored 9 and conceded 0 against those ‘bottom clubs’, I’d say that’s fairly convincing.

I can’t believe with the quality of players, plus the quality of the manager, we’ll finish the season near the bottom of the league.
Only the most optimistic would think we could correct our form enough to challenge at the top, but a respectable position and something in cup comps is possible.

Only three points off as it stands, but played a game more than everyone else. Hope that results this afternoon go for us and a derby win next weekend.

I’m sadly not a million miles from one of those oldies myself!
I didn’t want to speak for those who remember Joe, hence why I chose that cut off. Mind, outside of the ‘69 it seems to have been mediocre.
