Republicans Are Damaged by Their Own Cruelty
They’re pathologically unwilling to help Americans in need — and Democrats should hammer this home

This blog post comes the closest to articulating my overall feelings about the situation.
And, to be clear... I'm glad to see people putting pressure on Dems who surrendered even as—or perhaps even moreso because—I can't muster the energy to feel outrage myself

I'm in a cancel, sign up for $1 trial, cancel, sign up ... loop. I'm willing to pay more than that, but I'm not willing to pay their "best rate" given just how little news coverage they provide

i'm grateful to live in a community where lots of people are working hard to make this a better place for everyone, and understand that takes hard work of local organizing.
If you're motivated to do the same, or are already doing it and what to hang out and chat ... come on out 👇🏽

When I was younger I was more heavily invested in state and federal politics. The conclusion I've since reached is that enduring change can only emerge from the bottom-up. That's why I'm committed to local advocacy and organizing

So, of course, Congressional Dems bailed out the hostage takers. It's what they always do. Structurally, that's what corps, PACs, & major donors expect. The combination of massive income inequality + Supreme Court saying that spending $ = free speech ensures outcomes like this at Federal level

Unfortunately, way more than food stamps or healthcare costs, the convenience of Holiday Travel has far higher salience and visibility to "average Americans." On a slow holiday weekend, it would the main thing on the news.

oh, yes, I remember all that dry powder talk. And, you made me look to see if stuff I wrote at DK decades ago was still there. It is. I stumbled across something I wrote in honor of my mom (now deceased) for mother's day and, I'm glad to have found that. So, thank you for posting that link
