Hey, it's a new Ask A Music Critic column! A reader inquires, "What is the first great indie album?" A simple question that inspired a complicated answer.

This is so weird/funny. You're a Super Bowl-winning QB who's still in the league!

Really sad about this news. Todd has dealt with so much already, this just seems stupidly cruel. Sending best wishes to an American treasure.

Also: If you assault Todd Snider, that's a "go straight to hell" ticket right there.

A good way to weed out the jerks in the Deadhead world is asking what they think of Donna Jean. I absolutely love her. An integral part of the all-time best Dead era. RIP.

Very weird day. My main memory is the news leaking early and then going on Twitter and seeing people joke about us all losing our jobs 10 minutes before the conference call officially telling us we were all losing our jobs.
Grantland folded 10 years ago today. I'll never forget that morning.

I have a strange relationship with that time in my life. Sometimes, it feels like it all happened to a different person. But I'm so grateful to have been a part of that place. I know it’s the reason I'm here.
