You were *just* fretting over the existence of aurally mutated listeners, and now you want to hear about the abnormally gluteal ones?!

There's definitely some heavy pandering to its legacy audience, but Bates' performance alone is enough to forgive a multitude of sins. If you're after a lighter procedural show and you're not put off by incredibly unrealistic courtroom proceedings, you could do a lot worse!

Of course, hence the classic saying "you can't make an omelette without leaving all your eggs in one basket".

He also says the secret to a good omelette is "no eggs, just milk" and I can never tell if he was cracking a joke, he misspoke, deliberately messed up as part of his fumbling schtick, or it was a flubbed line they kept in because it tracks with one of the above.
