Trying to be less tired
I have been reading a bit about the suffragettes recently, and I had never realised just how many of their actions basically consisted of finding a cabinet minister and then punching him in the face

i plan to use the same tech to create a virtual version of myself to service the ~1500 demands i receive per day that i apologise for being white, which will hopefully free up enough time for me to get a hair cut for the first time since 2007
when AI tech is mature next year, i will create a video of a white blonde woman getting fired from her job for refusing to apologize for being white. video will go viral. next, i will start a gofundme, which will earn me $2M in tax free income, allowing me to buy a home in a walkable neighborhood

After bike commuting for about two years I now hate cycling because half the time when I get on the bike, I end up at work

www.nature.com/articles/s44... my favourite thing about this, and it's hard to narrow that down, is that they sometimes refer to an "experimenter dressed as Batman" and sometimes just "Batman", for example "when Batman was present"

I really want to read Bruno Latour's book about Aramis, the failed Paris public transportation project of the 1970s, after seeing it in a museum in French. BUT LOOK HOW AWFUL THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE COVER IS!! Arggh. (More in the alt text.)

Hungarian first class train. I have no idea how this compares to British first class because I have never in my life had enough money for that.

youtu.be/yJC9s4XhiRE?... somehow I’d never thought of these rental bikes (and scooters) as potential future e-waste, but of course they are. I wonder if the companies were have in the UK have any plans for clean up of the vehicles if they go out of business

The last train I got out of London got held for 20 minutes at a station due to someone racially abusing the train staff, and on the one before that someone attacked a guy to the point that the victim was bleeding from his face. I don’t have any thoughts other than wtf right now

The translation I have of The Myth of Sisyphus says “There is no fate that cannot be surmounted by scorn.”

Scorning things feels relatively achievable right now

I don’t usually remember dreams, but in the past when I did remember they were weird. These days when I remember dreams it’s stuff like there was a bad movie on tv but I watched it, or my friend knows my coworker somehow. I think my subconscious has given up.

I will never accept that monorails are not futuristic or cool
one of the few things about which I ever feel optimistic is that I can sometimes believe we’re approaching very closely the point where no one thinks any “futuristic” technology is cool anymore
i'm so sorry but you will never convince me this is cool
