Former Republican who disavowed and left the GOP 15 years ago when it moved too far right, abandoned any principles, and became irredeemably stupid.
Actually, come to think of it, I came here from Twitter for pretty much the same reasons.

3/? — No more career politicians. This means term limits, but ideally I'd love to see somewhat longer single terms, instead of shorter multiple ones, as we've far too often seen that someone does not do what is right UNTIL their final term, because they're worried they'd not be reelected. >

Some ideas that I'll add to as time goes on for #America2.0
1/? — At the broadest level, I think an underlying principle has to be that we need to codify ACTUAL rules for a lot of things we currently have as just 'expectations' that people will behave properly. Trump showed us that doesn't work.

It would be amazing, if statistically unlikely, for an immediate post-authoritarian future. Here's hoping that America 2.0 can build itself back better!

The worst part is that even most of the other Democrats who DO realize This Is Not Normal STILL seem to think that all they have to do is just keep their heads down, and tough things out until the midterms, THEN everything will magically change.
But that's not how fascist regimes work.

A problem there is that 3rd parties don't really work with a first-past-the-post system, so we'd need to get some form of ranked voting in place first.
Of course, voting is irrelevant under a fascist regime, but still something to keep in mind for whatever country rises from the ruins of this one.

Those people who don't know appear to be Dem politicians who seem to be buckling under the pressure—hence why people are complaining about them.
I agree that this fascist regime is 100% responsible for EVERYTHING, but many Dems are also guilty of still treating all this like "politics as usual."

I mean, yes, but we all KNOW the Republicans are going to act terribly. That's like complaining that fire burns when you touch it.
The Dems were SUPPOSED to be better than the GOP, and so THAT'S why they are getting complaints: the fire-retardant gloves we were promised turned out to be flammable.

They won't, for NOW.
We shouldn't expect ANY consistency out of this Supreme Court with their corrupt majority, and assume that every decision given to them to make will be in their interests, not the people's.
We have to keep up the pressure and the fight. We no longer can afford ANY complacency.

"This is what a police state looks and feels like, bc that’s what he’s trying to institute."
*HAVE instituted. We need to stop talking about things that have already happened as if they are instead future possibilities. Putting extra locks on a door doesn't help if the bag guys are already inside.

Yep. Exactly that.
That's where our biggest problem lies. The Democrats have largely refused to believe that a fascist regime—who is OPENLY ignoring the law—is currently in control of the ENTIRE federal government. They have convinced themselves that it's still just 'politics as usual,' when it's very clearly NOT.

Oh, I'm not talking about them being voted out. I'm talking about how it won't matter when they're frog-marched out of office due to whatever excuse is used to justify removing anyone not loyal to Trump.
This regime has ALREADY refused to swear in elected Dems; they won't hesitate to do worse.

I mean, we won't—the current fascist regime has all but outright said as much—so for those #Democrats who are buckling because they didn't want to potentially lose their own seat, congratulations, I guess...?

Looks like all of @citizenptnewsfl.bsky.social's posts there are AI-summarized, with a call for us readers to act as their editors by reporting any mistakes, AND then also asking us to pay them for that privilege in the form of subscriptions.
Welp, adding that website to the list of ones to avoid.

Honestly, except for the AMAZING Gravity song/scene, I've been... less impressed by the songs or writing this season compared to the first.
And after S2E4, I'm kinda lost all real interest in it. I'll finish watching it, sure, but not really with the same enthusiasm I had previously, sadly. 😞

Right? TOO MANY of them still, inexplicably, seem to think that this fascist regime is just "really bad at governing" (as opposed to them INTENTIONALLY destroying the federal government). They think things are still just "politics as usual," which is SO incredibly incorrect it's mind-boggling.

Far, FAR too many Democrats are refusing to accept the fact that THEY LOST back in January. A fascist regime is in control now, and Dems still, SOMEHOW, think that a fascist regime will hold true to their word.
That's not how fascist regimes work.
