Football, photography, rubbish guitarist, loves various types of music particularly indiepop and brass bands. Likes visiting Spain.

Based in Nottinghamshire
When I had a new fitted kitchen some years ago I thought it was posh to have downlights. (I know everyone has them these days)
Over the years lamps have failed,to the point that it was so dark I risked severing my fingers when using the chopping board. At that point I made a trip to B&M for new ones

I always enjoy seeing food photos even of small portions.

Here's a photo of the biggest tomato from this year's crop. Presumably it would feed you for a week. 😉

As a left hander I thought I'd overcome the greatest challenges I'd face by learning to use a potato peeler & scissors right handed. That was before I had gout in my left elbow

I soon learnt that basic things like using a spoon, brushing my teeth & shaving were almost impossible with my right hand

3/3 During the Hobbes set Leon mentioned the first time they and Allo Darlin' were on the same bill at the London Popfest in 2012. That was a good day out.

Over the years I've seen Allo Darlin' at least 15 times and Hobbes probably 8 times so seeing them on the same bill again was a real delight.

2/3 Support came from the excellent @hobbesfanclub.bsky.social. A beefed up sound courtesy of the addition of Ian(from Horowitz & elsewhere) made a difference. Nice to have a chat with @leonhobbes.bsky.social afterwards.

I thought the gig was at the Vat & Fiddle not the Lord Roberts?

I'm guessing to keep in the spotlight it won't be long before Farage does a presser promising to bring back the death penalty.

Good stuff. I can't recall you playing the 12 string at a gig?

Police horses are often seen at Tranmere games though I think that's mainly for training purposes for games over the water.

You don't see them here in Notts as the mounted section was closed to cut costs some years ago.

3/3 Headliners Fortitude Valley were top notch. I think the new album is a step up from the debut, being noticeably poppier.

This is the third time I've seen them and definitely the best.

Thanks to Simon for promoting and also ensuring it finished at a civilised time(before 10pm).

2/3 Next up were Virginia's Wolves. Very punchy and didn't seem to take themselves too seriously.

I've spent the whole summer attempting to do what I'd normally do on a Sunday by car , by public transport instead.

It was mainly ok but some trips were dreadfully slow

Lack of timetable information and availability of multi-operator tickets was a constant problem.

I ought to write about it

I wonder if Ray Lewis actually lived in Great Bookham or just thought it would be funny to give that as his home town when he became a referee.

It'd be great if you could get Jamie Raskin onto the show.

A new song you're debuting in Nottingham next month?
August 27, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Hopefully it happens. It would considerably reduce the logjam at St Pancras and be an incentive to electrify north of Wigston.

I don't suppose you're going for this look again?

I know people are worried about the sharing of personal health data with 3rd parties but if it means more joined up thinking in the NHS then I don't have a problem, particularly at my age

I forgot my prescription tablets when I went to Spain recently. I could buy OTC with pharmacist approval

2 years earlier, played tennis in the morning(against the topless barmaid bloke). Fancied a match in the afternoon. If Diamonds beat Merthyr they'd be champions. Drove down. Arrived 2.30. Quiet outside. Soon realised it was a sell out. Watched through a hole in the fence. Allowed in for last 15 mins

The opposite of this happened during the previous ownership at Notts. The player was photographed signing a real contract and all the financials were visible. I downloaded the photo before the Tweet was deleted but I've no idea where I saved it to, unfortunately.
