This kind of rhetoric is cancerous to a democracy. Surely they agreed on some things, like the major bi-partisan bills they passed (or do they no longer want any credit for CHIPS?). But, more importantly, if you can't admit that your opponent is ever right about anything, it's bad news.

When you're extremely concerned about an uprising.

I vaguely realized this town was in the mountains, but as someone born in the middle of North America, my idea of a mountain town is more like Calgary, Vancouver, or maybe Pittsburgh....

I feel like an idiot right now. I didn't realize tourist traps were a real thing.

Here, tourist tourist tourist!

After nearly bailing from the train into a small mountain town, the door closed and we ended up at our destinaion an hour and change late. I'll never complain about Via again. 😅

I did not have Levis taking over San Francisco on my bingo card. 😅

My partner read a book about traveling Italy by train before we left for Sicily. It set my expectations extremely low. Thus far, the regional train from Siracusa to Catania is not bad! The sleeper trains look dated, though...

Just a Canadian hoping my American friends make good choices. But I encourage you to pay as much attention to the top result as the bottom.

VA and NJ races may not be exciting, but probably notable!

Even the saddest places can become beautiful, with enough time.

2500 years of population stagnation is one way to keep a lid on housing prices....

Please. Even if a bunch of people throw a hissy fit an leave, people will line up to take their place.

New York survived the 1970s, 9/11, and COVID. An election cycle isn't going to move the needle.

If people leave, others will get in line for a piece of Brooklyn or Manhattan.

Saw a few of these guys walking around Syracuse today. Apparently the Citroën Ami is technically an electric "quadricycle."

I really appreciate the spectrum of cars in Italy. Very few people really need an F-150 to get around. This mignt not fly in Canada, but I'd love to see smaller hatchbacks.

North Americans scrambling to make tasty non-alc drinks when Italy already has it figured it out.

I think i'm nailing this wine thing
November 2, 2025 at 5:21 PM
The kids are not alright. Everywhere I go, brewers, wine guys - unanimous! The kids aren't drinking because they want to be all healthy and stuff.

Having more small cars makes it easier to strike a balance between cars and pedestrians in city centers.

Just about to take photo.

What's that noise. Is that a podcast?

Don't be fascist.

Don't be fascist.

Don't be fascist.

Oh, it's Tim Miller from The Bullwark!

Thanks for not being fascist, touristo. 👏

"Evolving regulatory environment."

Amazing how delicately they tiptoe around criticizing the mad king.

Finally, an unspoiled view of the Sicilian countryside!

*squints*

How dare those Medieval developers ruin my view?!?
October 29, 2025 at 11:40 AM
People are just as car brained in southern Europe as they are in North America. The difference is they built cars to fit cities, and we built cities to fit cars.

Ah, the unspoiled Sicilian countryside.

*zooms in*

Greedy developers ruin everything!
