Did anyone else have this book growing up? I got it one Xmas & was obsessed. I’m sure it’s still buried somewhere in the attic, though I couldn’t find it last time I looked. Kids (or at least, this kid 😂) have such a weird fascination with the morbid & grotesque. Some of the images still haunt me...

Happy Halloween! My film recommendation for tonight is Late Night with the Devil - I only got to watch the first half last night but can't wait to finish it later. Totally original, properly creepy...😱

What are you watching tonight?

Take a walk around Ightham Mote, the ancient Kent manor that inspired Bramley in The Boy in the Burgundy Hood. Notice the scratched symbols above a fireplace, intended to ward off witches? And, in the Butler's Pantry, a glimpse of the ghostly boy himself 👻
Now just 99p/99c, perfect for Halloween! 🎃
