“Powers to call in media mergers extended beyond TV, radio and newspapers to include online news sites and news magazines”
The Labour government is to bring online news sites & periodicals under rules for media mergers to allow scrutiny of any mergers that could negatively impact accurate reporting, freedom of expression and media plurality.

A very welcome move and possible through quicker secondary legislation.
