A public service announcement…

Stripping Andrew of his titles is long overdue, but he still remains 8th in the line to the throne and a counsellor of state (a small set of Royals who can ‘deputise’ for the King constitutionally). He needs to be removed from both.

Reform UK is quickly becoming a refuge for failed Tory politicians and z-list celebrities desperate for media traction.
Hmm. Politico: "Reform UK has announced that Jeremy Kyle has joined the presenting line up for its party conference in two weeks. Kyle says that he wants to “put a smile back on the face of politics, because it’s a bit bloody miserable isn’t it?”

His show was axed for good reasons...

Heading to North Wales today to see first-hand how communities and public bodies are tackling the climate and nature crises together.

From flood resilience in Barmouth to long-term adaptation with Network Rail, these are the kind of grounded, practical partnerships we need more of across Wales.

Co-operatives have long helped to rebuild communities following conflict – but there's more they can do. Ask your MP to write to the new International Development Minister and recognise the power of co-operation in building a more peaceful world. party.coop/campaign/pea...

Fantastic to see my old NUS boss @andrewpakes.bsky.social pilot this vital Bill through Westminster. As a non-exec director of mutual housing association this is exactly the sort of resident-led change we need to bring about. @coopparty.party.coop
While the previous Government failed on housing, Coin Street proved there's a better way: co-operative housing owned by the people who call it home.

Now, we're backing Andrew Pakes' Bill to recognise co-op housing in law and break down the barriers holding communities back.

Amazing Oxfam Sisters on the Planet and Action Network Activists advocated for tax policies that benefit women and girls this #IWD. Folks learned more about the tax fight and how we can take action to rewrite our failed tax system so that it can fight inequality—not fuel it.

A periodic reminder to fans of idioms in politics that Nye Bevan was cremated and so would not be spinning anywhere.

Interesting fact, his ashes were scattered on the hills above Tredegar where he walked as a boy reciting poetry to try and control his stammer. Well, I find it interesting.

With the US-Canada trade war heating up, Canadians are looking for friends elsewhere.

Perhaps surprisingly, nearly half of Canadians say they would support joining the European Union

Question for the BSky hivemind: I am looking for info on community/shared car chargers. Our resident's association are looking for something that would allow residents to share a charger, and be billed accurately for their use. Any pointers greatly appreciated! #EVCharging #Community

“There are no winners in a trade war”. Strong stuff but 100% on the money from Trudeau
You can’t overstate the historic importance of today’s speech to both American and Canadian citizens by Canada’s Prime Minister.

Please watch it and share it wherever you live, but especially if you’re in the United States. You need to know what Trump is doing, and why. youtu.be/wz_42pckM7w

The irony being Zelenskyy was following custom and practice. It’s the norm for heads of government to wear military garb in diplomatic settings whilst their country is at war.
📸 No one follows more etiquette rules than the Royal Family—but notice how King Charles didn’t make any smart-ass or demeaning comments about Zelensky’s attire today.

Why? Because respect isn’t about clothes—it’s about character. And that’s something money can’t buy.

Good to be out this morning in Fairwater. Quite a few conversations about the international picture and the need for a strong UK in the face of global insecurity.
Great to be over the road in Fairwater this morning with Councillor Saleh Ahmed and dedicated labour members like Viv, Steve, Shane, Sam, Owain and Kevin.

We had a very warm reception at the doors on what has turned out to be a surprisingly spring-like sunny day.
