My crochet kid made me a Lowly Worm. 😍

A fuzzy crocheted worm in the style of Richard Scary’s “Lowly Worm”. The face is pink with big eyes (white with black pupils). Lowly is smiling. He has a white collar, a red bow tie, a blue shirt, green pants and a red and white running shoe with white laces. He is wearing a green fedora -like hat with a yellow feather on the side. In this photo, he is tied in a loose knot. The whole worm is approximately 1 metre long.

My annual reminder to plant a haskap berry bush (or a few!) in your #YYC yard. It’s one of the earliest bushes to flower and provides food for the queen 🐝 ! At any one time, there are 4-6 queen bumbles in my haskap. And the berries are delicious in late June. Apparently, the ladybugs also like it.

Finnigan has recently decided his favourite place is my bed (he is not allowed to sleep here at night). He also discovered he can see himself in the mirror from this spot and isn’t sure what to make of his reflection - that’s what he was doing in this photo. 😂

Friends (esp in YYC but also beyond), has anyone else noticed that the white painted lines in pedestrian crossings is suddenly very slippery when wet? Did they change the paint they use? I’ve only experienced this since Sept.

I’ve been documenting my encounters with urban nature for the past few weeks. Came across a juvenile beaver carrying a stick back to its lodge on yesterday’s dog walk. So cute!
