Precinct organizers are the lifeblood of the Democratic party & powerful agents for grassroots change. I'm proud of our Democratic district leadership in HD-16 - our district officers & all the precinct officials who organize their precincts & serve on the central committee. On to victory in 2026!

What a privilege to participate in this policy discussion event at Manitou Springs High School, hosted by the Colorado College Sunrise chapter! It was reminiscent of my time chairing the Colorado Youth Advisory Council, when I got to see first hand how much our youth have to offer.

Great town hall event at Chinook Center today with @daveyseligman.bsky.social for CO Attorney General & Charles Johnson for COS D-11

The economy is stacked against us & corporate lawlessness is escalating rapidly. We need an AG who knows what it takes to put the law on the side of ordinary people.

Join me and my friend David Seligman for a town hall next Saturday! We'll also be joined by D-11 school board candidate Charles Johnson.

We're running to put the law on the side of working Coloradans - join us!

When: Saturday, October 25th, noon-2pm
Where: Chinook Center

Thank you EPC Progressive Veterans for having me around for your lunch this afternoon! We had some heavy topics to cover, from service cuts at the VA to how military personnel can defend themselves against unlawful orders.

Appreciate you all for your continued service to our community & our country

Beautiful morning at the NAACP Juneteenth Prayer Breakfast! The observation of Juneteenth reminds us that freedom on paper is not the same as freedom in practice. We have to commit to the work for the long haul, especially when it's difficult & uncomfortable.

Always nice to see these great ladies!

Karman Line annexation defeated in a landslide!

I see this as a death knell for low-density sprawl. I'm sure some number of these votes are just anti-growth, and we'll continue to negotiate with those folks.

But it is a decisive rejection of endless expansion & that's very exciting!

The 2025 Obama Dinner this weekend was beautiful! It was really encouraging to hear from fellow Democratic leaders, serving at a federal and state level, that Democrats need to be bold.

Saturday's walk against Karman Line was amazing! Together we made a powerful statement about the absurd distance from town of this proposed development, and all the opportunities we're missing right here in the city we already have. Vote "no" in the June 17th special election!

Happy Earth Day!

On Saturday, May 3rd, I'll join some friends for a 3.35-mile walk to protest the Karman Line annexation, which is going to a special election on June 17th. This flagpole annexation would skirt the rules to allow a new development 3.35 miles outside of the current city limits. 1/

I'm proud to endorse our excellent attorney general and champion for working families, Phil Weiser, to be the next governor of CO. When I get back to the CO House in 2027, I want to work with a Gov who I know will take on the big fights. Looking forward to taking that victory lap together in 2026!

Hope you're able to get in some fresh Spring air today 💐

Yesterday's "empty chair" town hall event really highlighted our political establishment's disconnection from the community. We packed the labor hall with people from all walks of life, furious to have a representative who can't, or won't, show his face in his own district and explain his actions.
March 18, 2025 at 1:01 PM
Politicians only avoid their constituents when they can't defend their actions.

That's why I'm speaking at an "empty chair" town hall this Monday at the IBEW Local #113. Maybe someone can roll the tape for Crank later, since he won't come here and listen to us.

Congratulations to the new executive leadership of the El Paso County Democratic Party, chaired by John Jarrell!

Also congrats to our new leadership in HD-16! 🙌

Who needs some good news? We've got to take our victory laps when we can, right?

Uber Technologies was unsuccessful in their attempt to block our new transparency requirements! 1/

On this day two years ago, I held my first town hall as an elected official.

It's a shame that our current representative doesn't seem to think that engaging with the community is worth her time.

“Don’t act like everyone loved my father. He was assassinated. A 1967 poll reflected that he was one of the most hated men in America. Most hated. Many who quote him now and evoke him to deter justice today would likely hate, and may already hate, the authentic King.” - Rev Bernice King

While Nikola Tesla is a hot topic, here's some fun trivia: Tesla had a lab in Colorado Springs in 1899, in my district actually, on Knob Hill. He was only here about nine months but made some of his biggest breakthroughs right here in HD-16.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Except the Scrooges of this world holding the working class under your boot. I hope you get haunted tonight and wake up changed 🎄

Stood in solidarity with @sbworkersunited.org baristas today. Cops tried to shoo us away but we held firm.

The store was forced to close early.
