This is not smart. It doesn't have the satirical undertones of Claude Mulot's stuff, or the visual flair of Gérard Kikoine. It's a boiler plate plot of Richard Allan introducing wife Cathy Menard to a life of lincentiousness. It's not going to win any awards.

La perversion d'une jeune mariée (Burd Tranbaree, 1978) - Hard to go too wrong when your film is essentially a showcase for Brigitte Lahaie's considerable talents, but this one, in which her groom-to-be gets to read her diary ahead of a Droit de cuissage wedding night, is maybe a bit too languid.

Saw Steven Wilson a couple of nights ago. What an extraordinarily talented musician he is. Deserves national treasure status; always exploring, has built and supported a whole ecosystem of musicians. His new album, The Overview, is a late masterpiece (with some lyrics by Andy Partridge!)

'My Nights With Susan, Sandra, Olga & Julie'(Pim de la Parra, 1974) - I think this is my favourite from the #cultepics 'Dutch Sex Wave' collection. It has a pitch-black line in absurdity plus a kind of poisoned anti-erotica that I find rather appealing. I suspect Hitchcock might have liked it.
