I agree. This is not what the founding fathers had in mind and it's become sinister. We live in a world they never could have imagined. It's time for something new, like a parliamentary system of government with multiple member proportional representation.

I keep seeing on the bird app that certain groups within the #Democrat party don't like primaries at all. They think a small group within the party should pick the candidate and that's it.

This should go without saying, but it's okay if someone you don't agree with goes on a certain show or podcast. It's okay to be exposed to dissenting opinions. It's okay to feel uncomfortable. The biggest danger for the Democratic Party moving forward is the imposition of ideological purity tests.

Apparently, I accidentally skipped an important BlueSky tradition: introducing yourself with pets. Here are my cats. Figaro is the tuxedo cat. He's tough with a soft spot for sunsets. The tortie is Pixel, she's a bit antisocial but loves a select few humans of which I'm one.

As dark as things are, John Lewis was right, we have a playbook. We've come out of worse and we can come out of this. It's going to take time and it's going to be rough, but we can come out of this on the other side. I refuse to give up hope because it's all we have and it's the ultimate resistance.

I don't know why we're freaking out about every shitty Trump appointment. We knew this was going to be God awful. I'm not surprised, this is living up to my expectations. The bar is in hell with this administration.
