6&7. Black Sun and Fevered Star, Rebecca Roanhorse. BS a wonderful and satisfying reread before FS. A fantasy world inspired by pre-Colombian Americas, I find the characters fascinating and the situations challenging. People possessed by gods & deeply annoyed about it. I am eager for the next book.

1. Aurora. Margaret Court Arena, 11 Feb. I love her. Seagulls, full moon, esoteric witchy vibes, serendipitous run in with pals, nice walk home. High energy.

Sights of Merri-bek

5. Spirits Abroad, Zen Cho. This was a fun collection of Malaysian fantasy short stories. A perfect LNY read for a Malaysian. So lovely and silly and familiar. Perfect use of a lion dance.

4. The Sunforge, Sascha Stronach. Book 2 in a series. LOVED book 1. This one took me a little to get into. Maori-inspired, little left-of-us world with funghi and technology and weird shenanigans. Very fun.

3. To Shape a Dragon's Breath, Monquill Blackgoose. Incredible, warm book. An Indigenous woman imprints on a dragon and has to go to a coloniser run dragon academy. A thinly veiled analogy, and no less delightful for it. I really loved this book. I can't wait to read book 2.
