A lot of the Trump voterbase should be understood as a consequence of having class-based suffering and maladies without a strong enough left that can provide class-consciousness and collective political logic as a pathway to overcoming those maladies.

I like the recent Chris Hedges interview - juxtaposing "corporate elite" against "oligarchic elite," which explains why the debate had Kamala praising Goldman Sachs and all the Wallstreet canon, and Trump posing somehow as an opposite of these things.
