Based on portrayals in recent films, ghosts are the shittiest roommates ever. Loud, might actually hurt you, never clean up, very reluctant to leave or do much of anything productive.

... then repeat the process one or two more times, so that each time he was getting a little looser from the original feel. Did all that again with drums until he liked where it was, and then layered stuff like normal. You've got to have strong rhythm chops to do that, and it worked well there.

One of the last few sessions I did with my mobile rig was one of the most unusual. It was one musician playing all the parts, and he started with acoustic guitar to a click — pretty typical. Then he'd have me mute the click and track it again just listening to the recorded part. ...

Personal aside: I've got an audio engineering background and it's been interesting to see movement away from all click tracks all the time. I'm not "anti-click" but it's a different and useful approach.
