When I used to advise those during civil disobedience training, I used to say 3 things.

1. This will cost you something;

2. Everyone has a moment of doubt; &

3. No one is ever going to thank you for doing the right thing, but it's never wrong to do the right thing.

I can't watch this - s1 was so depressing and a betrayal of the actual tv's show message.

Ending this program would sound a death-knell for an entire field's history in the UK.

Austrian marxist Karl Reitter on Value-form marxism

"… a Marxism without a working class and class struggle. Among the protagonists of this current are Moishe Postone and Michael Heinrich. Whether and in what form the proletariat still exists is largely irrelevant for this school of thought."

Cigar hand-rollers were among the most politicised unions, since they'd pay someone to read #marx and other left texts aloud to them while they worked.

Roger-Pol Droit, Michel #foucault, entretiens (2004)

Pourtant, à mon sens, l’Histoire de la folie est au moins aussi marxiste que bien des histoires des sciences écrites par des marxistes

"However…the History of Madness is at least as Marxist as many histories of science written by Marxists."

Remembering my immigrant paternal grandfather, Hyman Shapiro, who served in the US army for WWI.

It's a blessing to know he isn't alive to see the low-lifes running the presidency and war department.
