One of these things is not like the other. Not sure how Poilievre's Conservatives can even pretend they are wrapping themselves in the Canadian flag when half of them are Trumpists. #cdnpoli

The Supreme Court allows ostrich farm cull to proceed. People are shocked that potential transmitters of deadly avian disease will be killed on an ostrich farm that... (checks notes) normally kills them for meat. #cdnpoli

Surely there is some billionaire who will step up to fund feeding the hungry (which includes over a million soldiers & veterans) just like they stepped up to pay for a gaudy ballroom and pay privately for the US military. #USpoli

It's Canada's loss that Gladu's gospel album never took off and she chose politics instead. #cdnpoli

Trump's lies are so transparent. Reagan hated #tariffs. He said they would be the ruin of America and were the cheap trick of dishonest politicians who wrapped themselves in the flag. There is no room for ambiguity. Listen to Reagan's own words. #uspoli #cdnpoli youtu.be/jSKguihmoug?...

Trump is mad that Canada is putting its case directly to Americans. The commercial running in the US must be hurting. #cdnpoli #uspoli #tariffs

In 1936 the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Carl von Ossietzky, a German pacifist convicted of high treason for exposing German re-armament. At the time of the award he was in a concentration camp. As a result Hitler banned any German from accepting a Nobel Prize and created his own German prize.

All judges in Canada (including the Supreme Court) are subject to the rules of and discipline by the independent Canadian Judicial Council. Their handbook is very specific, and even a whiff of impropriety in Canada usually results in resignation before discipline. I wrote an article about it.

Is it a Ruth Bader Ginsberg thing? Traditional lawyer robes were always a wing collar and tabs for both sexes.

Even Hitler didn’t put his face on German money. He did put it on stamps, and charged the German government a royalty for it, which made him rich.

Today (Oct. 3rd) is German Unity Day that commemorates German reunification in 1990. In 1971 I visited East Berlin. Here I am with my father and sister on one of the lookouts in West Berlin where families split up by the Berlin Wall hoped to get a glimpse of their relatives on the other side.
