There is a video on YouTube somewhere highlighting just how much thought was put into the 800. The models that came after got cheaper, marginally better in workings, but cut some of the corners in the process. e.g. open the cartridge port door on the 800 and it cut power, on the XL/XE this was gone.

The Atari SIO was kind of the forerunner to USB. Joe Decuir is credited with a significant role in both. SIO had plug n play. SIO had daisy chaining. SIO read the drivers it needed for the hardware attached from the peripheral itself. Before its time.

Not doing 20 days, but I credit "Mapping the Atari" with really solidifying my interest in programming way, way back in the mists of time!

Yup, BeIA was specifically built to use a web browser as its UI. You can read more at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeIA

It was a dumbed down BeOS called BeIA (Be Internet Appliance), and, as far as I know, the eVilla only presented the user with a web browser.

Just over a week ago, as an experiment, I added "☑ #SelfVerified" to the top of my description. Note: SelfVerified and not Verified. Verified would imply a third party had confirmed the identity. Best I expect is it makes someone take a second look at the handle. Does it increase trust? Don't know!

If you've set a custom domain as your handle, you should get a verification tick. But all it really verifies is that your Bluesky account is linked to a domain. Great if you're a big name like Microsoft. Doesn't really prove much if you're an individual, unless people already trust the domain

It's also good to see that @localfirst.fm has a presence here on Bluesky!

Millions have joined recently and it seems a lot of well known people in the various topics I'm interested in are on board. So it's just down to y'all using it. Never a big Twitter user myself, but I'm slowly weening myself into and getting comfortable with Bluesky. I think it's the real deal!

I rather liked the look of the Sony eVilla, if you can call it a computer.
