Trump wants the Commanders stadium to look like the Coliseum, which means it's going to end up looking like a Cheesecake Factory www.axios.com/local/washin...
Trump allies want classical design at new Commanders stadium
And they have a say over the project's final look.

Joke's on Marco Rubio, because Calibri and Times New Roman are both designed by (shudder) foreigners. Let's get a Made in the USA typeface like Franklin Gothic in there!

HUD has these disgusting lies in a pop up on their home page, luckily they ALSO have a Website Feedback button in the bottom left corner. I submitted feedback and you should too.

Gee I wonder what the renewed public interest is about

Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.

I've always encountered lots of defense industry design job listings living in DC but feels like a sign of the times that I am seeing WAY more now than ever before. This one really takes the cake

Can we please stop pretending that California's own Patrick Bateman is going to be the one to save us when JB is right there?

How is this idiot gonna do a foot patrol on these dogs, huh?

@wmatagm.bsky.social @wmata.com I love to leave my physical therapy appointment )for mobility issues) at Georgetown hospital and wait 30 minutes at a bus stop with no shelter and no bench! Why in the world wouldn’t you put a bench at a stop where people are literally getting discharged from the ER?

So far Better Bus system has been trash. Hoping some of these things will be worked out (ghost buses are back, drivers randomly stop for several minutes despite being behind schedule) but you can't change that many trips I relied on now take 20-40 minutes longer @wmata.com @wmatagm.bsky.social

I genuinely think the bus should be free for at least a month while everyone has their lives upended by the system redesign @wmatagm.bsky.social @wmata.com

(And really, the bus should be free ALL the time)

New plan to save the country: some Broadway producer is a hero, mounts a production of Evita, casts Trump as Che, he resigns immediately to take the role.

It's a big year for Pride in DC & WorldPride is here but so is the Trump administration. Rather than talking about DC's queer history I wanted to hear from the people MAKING that history right here, right now.

2025 has sucked, but these 6 queers remind us how strong & beautiful our community is 🖤
Stronger Together: On Pride, Resilience, and Working Toward a Better Future
Six members of the queer and trans community remind us of the power of Pride as the federal government continues to attack LGBTQIA rights.

Being more of an Andrew Lloyd Weber fan, maybe Trump doesn't know what this show is actually about?

Is anybody doing a Not My President's Day sale? C'mon, I know someone wants to be the mattress of the resistance!

Had a supremely weird day after Inauguration going to review What the Constitution Means to Me at Round House Theatre, but it was actually galvanizing and reassuring. I highly recommend seeing this before it closes on the 16th! washingtoncitypaper.com/article/7578...
What the Constitution Means to Me Remains Relevant and Revelatory in 2025
What the Constitution Means to Me could veer into TED Talk territory, instead the living document becomes a real presence in the lives of real people.

After 3 months, the Mississippi Free Press's BlueSky has already surpassed 50k followers.

It took 5 years of work, on the other hand, to build a (declining) following of just 22k on Twitter/X.

The old place ALWAYS made it harder for independent media to grow.

On Jimmy Carter’s 100th birthday I said what’s the point of living in DC if no one was even going to do bday drink specials, this stupid town better not let me down this time around
