Not only did this brilliant documentary cover the GDPR legislative process from beginning to end, it also managed to get access to key players such as Jan Philipp Albrecht and Viviane Reding.

The final outcome may be quite different from the most recent drafts. Also, unexpected events (e.g., new U.S. government tariffs) could delay or bring the efforts to a halt.

3) Heavy lobbying from all sides materially influenced the final text.
4) The trilogues were not exactly a walk in the park: Many draft clauses emerged and died in the quest for a viable compromise.

But it's also worth remembering some of the lessons from those days:
1) "Nothing is agreed until everything is agreed": Getting a legislative package over the finishing line is challenging.
2) In the Council, the differences between national governments required a lot of negotiation.

1/ Sometimes, when life slows down, I look around and I am in awe. The beauty of nature. The miracle of organic life. That anything exists. That the laws of physics, particles, our sun, our earth are all perfectly calibrated to allow this beautiful and supporting habitat for us.
