Always good to treat such company announcements with a a healthy dose of scepticism, but that's the direction we are heading.

We could apply this same logic to AI systems, where, for instance, “a judgment against an AI could result in its operational capital being seized or its core software being “arrested” by court order”.

I don't know how you can look at the famous pale blue dot photo and think: Yes, our planet is possibly the only place with intelligence in this vast universe, so what it needs is more grievance-based division and less global governance.

Flashback to December 2019 when global AI investment was reported to be - [checks notes] - $97bn. I think that's now the average salary for top AI talent.

P.S. China showing as having invested zero in AI. Ha.
