soooo this is going to be a post that makes absolutely everyone unhappy:

black bloc is a part of diversity of tactics

handknit pussy hats are part of a diversity of tactics

voting is a part of diversity of tactics
Interesting thread, appreciate it. One area that I am not sure is addressed is that at least in certain parts of America we do have 'black bloc' wannabes that will co-opt these demonstrations with their own extreme goals and methods. Protecting against that takes a lot more than 'social conformity.'

in the trump administration, “merit” is pronounced “white” like how strom thrumond said it.
Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story.

Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver.

This is what "merit" means to them.

There’s a certain point where virtually everyone I have ever met transitions from using the phone like a normal person to going speaker-only at full volume regardless of venue. Maybe when I hit that particular age I’ll understand why.

Miles Dyson immediately flipping and agreeing to help destroy his AI creation after hearing what it would do to the world was, it turns out, the most cartoonishly unrealistic part of T2.

Not a great sign that the meat substitute is able to voice its opinions; that it talks like a Batman villain seems inevitable in retrospect.

Perfection.
Hi everyone.

The Onion, with the help of the Sandy Hook families, has purchased InfoWars.

We are planning on making it a very funny, very stupid website.

We have retained the services of some Onion and Clickhole Hall of Famers to pull this off.

I can't wait to show you what we have cooked up.
The Onion Buys Alex Jones’s Infowars Out of Bankruptcy
The satirical news site planned to turn Infowars into a parody of itself, mocking “weird internet personalities” who peddle conspiracy theories and health supplements.

The information landscape is profoundly fragmented. Our complaints about Fox News don’t even scratch the surface of the layers and layers of conspiracy and misinformation and independent punditry that’s actually out there and impacting people’s beliefs about the world.
This is the GOP long game at work. By hamstringing budgets, they've prevented Dems from keeping promises to help people and eroded the effectiveness of many existing public programs. This fuels resentment toward Democrats, since they're the ones claiming government is good. 1/
