“There’s no words to describe my disappointment with our government at this point,” he says. The Trump administration’s approach to slashing biomedical research “is going to cost lives.”

Who would want to ally with a country that will shake you down later?

Who would want to work for a government that could fire you overnight for no reason?

The costs of Trump's actions will be felt for generations.

“The Maryland National Guard must decline events which celebrates individuals based all or in part on immutable characteristics,” the memo said.

Douglass was an abolitionist, suffragist, orator and author. That’s what we celebrate him. Let’s be clear: This bars celebrating him because he was Black.

Is the Trump administration scrubbing “trans” and “queer” from government documents?

The national parks page for the Stonewall Monument has all these references to “LGB.”

A couple of “lgbtq” are still there, embedded in graphics.

The “pride guide@ is down—“being worked on.”

This is sickening.

Beyond McCarthyism. It's a betrayal of core values of science to allow direct political interference in the research process.
NSF grantees - people who have already received their grants based on a previously funded and approved research proposal - are being told to stop any activities related to DEI and accessibility.
Call this what it is: government censorship of ongoing research projects.

The U.S. Air Force will no longer teach its recruits about the Tuskegee Airmen, the more than 15,000 Black pilots, mechanics and cooks in the segregated Army of World War II, an official with the military branch confirmed to Reuters Saturday.

We need reporters with subject matter expertise to report these stories in the first wave of coverage, not just to write "Trump does XXX" stories fitting the stated narrative on day one and only go back later to clarify in coverage no one sees
Important to realize scope of what's happening and how different it is from headlines:
-Not just getting rid of post-2020 DEI practices, setting up an attack on post-1965 civil rights law and practices
-Not just cracking down on illegal immigration, expelling legal immigrants and blocking refugees
